In my response, I will elaborate on ideas on how this is represented in various radio media. Radio producers have to appeal to a wide audience, with diverse tastes and preferences. This is done by featuring specific stars with the target audience they want to appeal to. For example, BBC Live Lounge featured Harry Styles performing a Fleetwood Mac song- "The Chain", combining Harry Styles' mainstream Brit-pop, mainly young, female audience with the maturer, mainly male audience who like rock and country music. This is effective because this causes those combined audiences to connect, and the fanbase to diversify and increase.
